Whittney Wood
Ohio House of Representatives, District 73
Central Ohio, State Legislature
Whitney is running for State Representative for Ohio District 73 with the belief that Ohio’s future should belong to the people, not just the powerful or affluent. Whitney was once in the shoes of the many Ohioans who struggle to pay bills, be met with quality healthcare, and see the government value the wealthy corporate over the working-class. Whitty is beyond willing to fight to take the government back and serve the people it’s truly meant to serve.
As a single mother, Whitney knows too well the issues that mothers face in Ohio. Like many others, she struggles to find a daycare for her children, works extra days in a male-dominated field to even be able to support herself, and sees firsthand how women’s health issues are taken with a grain of salt. Like many other women, Whitney is sick of her needs not being taken seriously by the government. Whittney aspires to use her position as State Representative to make sure that all women from classroom to boardrooms are given the resources to succeed and won’t have to work twice as much as men to be taken seriously.
Whittney has many points of interest that she plans to take a stance on as State Representative, including fully funding public schools and increasing the pay of teachers; increasing programs for mental health and drugs and alcohol dependency during a time of healthcare cuts; fully funding law enforcement while upholding Due Process Rights; and fight for women to take back their reproductive rights that have been encroached upon by the state. The Matriots are proud to support Whitteys’ ambitions for State Representative of District 73.
