Wendy P. Leatherberry

Currently serving her first term, Wendy Leatherberry was elected in 2021. She has more than two decades of experience as a non-profit professional and passionate advocate for public education and social justice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the George Washington University and a Master of Science in Urban Studies from the Levin College at Cleveland State University.
Wendy is currently the Director of Development and Communications at the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Previously, she held leadership roles at Every Woman Treaty and the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, where she led a team and secured millions in funding to support the Center’s regional impact.
Wendy previously served on the Cleveland Heights/University Heights Board of Education—the District that educated her—from 2004-2008, including terms as President and Vice President. Wendy and her husband have lived in Beachwood since 2011 and have two kids, a graduate from Beachwood High School, and one currently in Beachwood schools. Her vast experience has surely prepared her to continue to have a positive impact on her community and fight for Matriots’ values.
