Victoria L. Margroum

Victoria Margroum is running for a seat on the Sycamore Community Schools Board of Education. With deep and long-lasting engagement in the community, Margroum’s family has held roots in Sycamore Township for over 150 years. She currently lives in the suburbs of Cincinnati with her husband and two children. Margroum herself graduated from Sycamore High School in 1988, continuing to receive a degree in teaching from the University of Cincinnati. Margroum’s diverse professional experiences include kindergarten education, recruiting for a staffing company, and media outreach with local organizations such as the Jewish Community Center.
Recently, Margroum has been actively involved in various voluntary leadership positions within the Sycamore community, in addition to her role as a stay-at-home mom. She is president of the Sycamore Junior High PTO, chairs the publicity branch of the Theater Boosters, and is active on various advisory boards pertaining to school funding, district policy research, and future planning for SCS.
As a parent of a daughter with Down Syndrome, Margroum has served as an advocate for special education and disability rights within the community. She serves as a school representative to the Sycamore Special Education advocacy and Resources group and has been recorded as an amici on an ACLU-backed appeal to an Ohio Abortion law surrounding individuals with Down Syndrome.
