Verlena Stewart is running for re-election for Middletown City Board of Education. Verlena wants to continue to support the work and goals of the district, advance the public school systems, and build collaboration and trust between the district and community. She believes that the children need to be supported and provided an excellent education with an established pathway to graduation and post-graduation. As a Middletown High School graduate with grown children who also attended Middletown schools, and now grandchildren, Verlena is well equipped to keep providing the needs to support students, teachers, and staff. Aligning with the Matriots values, Verlena believes that all women deserve to further their education and wants to prevent the barriers due to cost, raising children, and self-confidence.
