Travian M. Atkins
Maple Heights City Council
Northeast Ohio, Local
Travian Atkins is a wife, mother, grandmother of ten, educator, and executive with deep roots in hard work, resilience, and service. Raised in Cleveland by a strong single mother who worked 12-hour shifts at Ford to provide for our family, she learned the value of determination and the power of education early on.
A young mother at 14 and a single mom of three by 21, Travian refused to let challenges define her. She earned six college degrees, proving that how you finish matters more than how you start. I’ve served as a laborer at Ford, a union member, a property manager, and now as an Assistant Finance Director and adjunct professor at Cuyahoga Community College. Travian is also mentoring youth through the Upward Bound STEM program.
In 2008, Travian became a proud Maple Heights homeowner and raised her daughters here. She has taught in the school district and remains deeply committed to her community. Travian is passionate about collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and building a stronger future for all of us.
Travian will continue fighting for families, the youth, and shared success in District 7.
