Tina Merlitti is a lifelong public servant with over 28 years of experience in state, county, and local government. Raised in Stow and now living in Munroe Falls with her husband, Adam VanHo, and their two children, Tina currently works for the Summit County Engineer and previously supported school safety planning at Summit County Emergency Management.
Tina made history as the first woman to serve as Vice President of Akron City Council. During her time on Council, she played a key role on the Akron Public Schools Facilities Committee, helping to lead the construction of 23 new school buildings using cost-saving, energy-efficient, and student-centered design.
A proud Ohio State alumna, Tina has been deeply involved in her community as a PTA member, Stow Parks & Rec coach, and former President of the Akron Area League of Women Voters. Her commitment to education, public service, and civic engagement reflects the core values of The Matriots.
