Tara Dyer is clear about why she’s running for Marion City Council. She wants to “provide a diverse voice at the table” focusing on housing, homelessness, and youth. A lifelong Marion resident, teaching for 35 years and currently mentoring young people, Tara understands these core issues from a granular level. Her work in the community includes volunteering with Marion/Community Voices, the Black Business Council of Marion, Turning Point, and the Peace and Freedom Committee. Tara says, “the spirit of volunteerism …drives me,” and that energy is at the center of everything she does for all the citizens of Marion.
