Dr. Small is a dedicated leader with experience as an entrepreneur and public health expert with a strong focus on equity and community empowerment. She holds advanced degrees in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. Nationally recognized as an expert in healthcare accreditation, she advises The Joint Commission and serves on several CDC councils, including the Traumatic Injury Prevention Council. These experiences have fine-tuned her invaluable skills in financial literacy, policy development, effective communication, and public service.  

As a candidate for County Commissioner, she aims to invest in economic and workforce development, expand access to mental health and addiction recovery services, and prioritize public safety. Her platform is rooted in addressing economic disparities, improving mental health resources, and enacting policies to curb gun violence, all to ensure that every resident of Butler County can thrive.
