Susan Kissel is running for Madeira City Council to bring equal representation to Maderia. When Susan learned the only two women who were on city council were finishing their terms this year and not running again, she knew she had to step up. As a chair of the Madeira Inclusion Committee, Susan has already started this work by advocating for the committees to have an equal makeup. Being both a woman and a mother gives Susan a perspective that is not well represented within Maderia’s local government.
