Columbus City Council, District 7
Central Ohio, Local
Running for a second term, Shayla Favor hopes to build on the work she accomplished in her first term as a council member for Columbus City Council. Over the last four years, Councilmember Shayla Favor created the Columbus Youth Council, spearheaded the effort to amplify and fund Deliver Black Dreams, and expanded the City’s effort to protect immigrant and refugee families through the Columbus Families Together Fund. With the expected growth of Columbus, challenges will arise with housing being at the forefront. When re-elected, Shayla will continue to focus on issues related to housing, including the passage of additional tenant protections. She also will address the growing homeless crisis in the community. Additionally, she will continue advancing policies focused on reproductive justice, expanding small business support and opportunities, pay equity, health care, and criminal justice reform. Councilmember Favor will continue to emphasize the importance of Matriot’s values when re-elected to Columbus City Council.Shayla Favor for Columbus City Council
Throughout my time on Columbus City Council, I have fought for women’s equity and independence. This means women are free to be who they want and are not discriminated against.
