Councilmember Shanette Strickland sees herself as a fighter, instead of a politician. The eldest child raised by a single mother, she often worked to help her mother put food on the table. Councilmember Strickland became the first in her family to graduate from college. This is at the heart of her passion to serve.

Driven by the belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things, Councilmember Strickland is committed to making sure City Hall hears what matters to Reynoldsburg residents. Since being elected in 2019, she has worked hand-in-hand with her Council peers and City government to attract relationships, companies, infrastructure and technology that builds her community.

Community service has been a constant in Councilmember Strickland’s life, and along with both her 20-year career in information technology and 10-year career in project management, she  brings thoughtful and inclusive leadership to Reynoldsburg.
