Akron Municipal Clerk of Courts
Northeast Ohio, Local
Sandra Kurt is honored to serve Summit County residents as Summit County Clerk of Courts and is running to bring the conveniences and efficiencies of technology and outstanding customer service to the Clerk of the Akron Municipal Courts. Sandra has served as Summit Clerk of Courts since January 2016. Under her leadership, the Legal Office has instituted electronic filing and modernized Accounting for the Court of Common Pleas and Ninth District Court of Appeals. These innovations have made it easier for customers to do their work from their office or their home while reducing the costs of operating the Clerk’s office. Sandra has added weekend and evening hours to the Title Division to make it easier for residents to process their auto and boat titles and to get their Passports. Because of Sandra’s concern about the impact of the opiate crisis in Summit County, she has made free drug disposal bags available at all Clerk of Courts locations.
Prior to becoming Clerk of Courts, Sandra served as an At-Large Councilwoman on Summit County Council, a position she held for five years. She was twice elected unanimously by her colleagues to serve as Vice-President of Council. Prior to County Council, Sandra served on Akron City Council as the Ward 8 Councilperson. Even with this solid record of public service, Sandra is anything but a career politician. Prior to entering politics, Sandra had a full and rewarding career wielding her Industrial Engineering expertise at a global manufacturing company headquartered in Akron. We know Sandra will bring her incredible wealth of knowledge to office and push for Matriot values.Sandra Kurt For Akron Municipal Clerk of Courts
The Akron Municipal Clerk’s office is mired in the1980s, based completely on paper. I plan to modernize the office by introducing electronic filing and modern communications and improved customer service.
