Councilwoman Rita Darrow is a proud mother and dedicated public servant with a passion for helping others and supporting her community. She served on the Macedonia City Council from 2012-2015, including a term as President, and was elected to the Summit County Council in 2020. Councilwoman Darrow is no stranger to collaborating with others to accomplish a common goal. During her term as Macedonia Council President, over 300 legislative items were passed, with more than 90% of them passing unanimously. Her willingness and ability to listen to the concerns and suggestions of others, build trust, and effectively problem solve are critically needed in the Statehouse.
When elected to the Ohio House, Councilwoman Darrow plans to focus on the urgent need for accountability in the legislature, and to foster the growth of jobs and businesses, doing what it takes to attract new job opportunities and industry to our State while helping larger employers succeed and expand. Through continuous communication and education, she also is deeply invested in addressing drug addiction and the opioid crisis impacting so many Ohioans and their families. Councilwoman Darrow will be an incredible voice of advocacy for Ohio’s families in the House.
