Rini Ghosh was appointed to the Beachwood Board of Education in January 2024. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Health Research Outcomes and Engagement at the CTSC of Northern Ohio at Case Western University. Her work focuses on facilitating population-representative research and improving health outcomes for all communities across Northern Ohio. She has taught over 23 courses in public health, health policy, human rights, and global health at Northeastern University and the Northeast Ohio Medical University. Rini earned her Master of Public Policy from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in South Asian Studies at the University of Toronto, where she served as student council president.

As a board member, Rini brings a background in leadership and public service. After graduating from the University of Toronto, she ventured into the political arena by running for the Provincial Parliament in Ontario, followed by a national campaign for a seat in the Parliament of Canada. Despite not securing a seat, these experiences deepened her commitment to progressive, evidence-based policymaking. Rini has resided in Beachwood since 2019 with husband Abhishek, a cancer researcher at The Cleveland Clinic, and their two children, who attend the Beachwood schools. When re-elected, Rini will continue to listen to the needs of her community and fight for access to a strong education that sets up students and the community to thrive, values that align powerfully with The Matriots’ mission.
