Rebecca Maurer is a candidate running to represent the residents of Ward 12 and herself. When Maurer began having problems with the heat in her Cleveland apartment, she discovered firsthand how bad management can impact communities and families. After using local resources to solve the issue, Maurer decided to make a career out of helping others. In 2014 she received her Juris Doctorate from Stanford and began representing clients across a variety of issues. Rebecca has advocated for individuals struggling with financial burdens, has worked with the Legal Aid Society to provide counsel to low-income families, and eventually established her own firm to represent clients needing help with student loan debt. In addition to her legal career, Rebecca has also been involved in her ward’s democratic club, organized neighborhood block parties, and participated in her local housing revitalization program. In each of her roles, she has proven her passion for service and pledges to bring the same energy to Ward 12.
