With over 25 years of experience practicing law, and a lifelong commitment to the local community, Councilwoman Holland is an Akron native who was unanimously appointed to serve Akron Ward 1 in 2021. She is now passionately seeking reelection and will continue to fight for Matriots values. Councilwoman Holland is a civil rights attorney who has served in a number of roles including Commissioner for the Akron Civil Rights Commission and on the Board of the Children Services Board of Summit County. She is also a former federal trial attorney for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and through her own private practice has represented thousands of women fighting for equal treatment in the workplace. She believes public engagement is a critical key to strong and effective government. When reelected, she will work diligently to increase community engagement and participation in local government processes and decision making, and continue to help Akron modernize its policies and operations, with a goal of creating a bright, sustainable future for every constituent she serves.
