Throughout her 41 teaching career, Myra Powers has taught students ranging from Kindergarten to 9th grade, including general, gifted, and special education classes within Milford Schools. She demonstrated knowledge within the classroom and went the extra mile to provide after-school and weekend tutoring, ensuring that her students received the support they needed. Due to her commitment to her students, Myra was named Educator of the Year in Milford/Miami Township.  

Raising her children in Milford and now seeing her grandchildren grow up in the same community, she has a deep connection to the community. Myra believes there is almost nothing more important than ensuring access to education to ensure future success and happiness. Her entire career has been committed to providing students’ well-being, health, and safety through access to education. Once elected, she will focus on school safety and health. Myra believes mental health and anti–bullying programs are critical for every student and staff member to feel safe and respected.
