Representative Michele Grim is a compassionate and courageous leader, representing Ohio House District 43. Michele holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women and Gender Studies and a Master of Public Health from the University of Toledo as well as a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University. As the Assistant Whip for the Ohio House Democratic Caucus, she has advocated for critical issues, including comprehensive gun reform, protections for domestic violence survivors, and safeguarding child influencers. She has also championed free period products in schools and transparency for rape kit statuses. While in office, Rep. Grim has truly advocated for her constituents via her efforts in clearing $230 million in medical debt for residents in District 43, her initiative in working to pass the Ohio Medical Debt Fairness Act, and her hopeful introduction of a bill that would create a way for survivors of domestic abuse to escape their living circumstances without legal or financial barriers.
Previously, Dr. Grim served on the Toledo City Council, where she spearheaded the allocation of American Rescue Plan funds for medical debt relief for thousands of residents. Her dedication extends to the fight against HIV/AIDS and leadership roles in sexual assault prevention and education at the University of Toledo and in Oakland, California. The Matriots are excited to see the positive influence Dr. Grim will continue to have in the Ohio House of Representatives.
