Melissa J. Anderson
Grove City Council, Ward 4
Central Ohio, Local
Melissa Anderson believes that the Grove City community needs a listener and a servant leader who seeks to understand before making decisions. As a resident of 20 years, Melissa believes she is that leader, and is running for Grove City Council, Ward 4. A graduate of Ohio State University with a B.A. in Communications and a Minor in Women’s Studies, Melissa has spent the last 22+ years in the private sector in marketing, communications, and operations. Currently serving as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Stonewall Columbus, is a Steering Committee Member of the Ohio Democratic Party’s Pride Caucus, and is a council-appointed member of the Grove City Community Diversity Advisory (DEI) Task Force. When elected, Melissa wants to ensure women have a voice in Grove City, as they are 50% of the population. She wants to continue building a safe and vibrant community, focus on infrastructure in our community before adding more growth, and develop better parks, outdoor space, and community wellness to benefit the citizens.
Melissa Anderson for Grove City Council Ward 4As an openly gay woman, I know it is essential to have representation of ourselves at the table! I am running to ensure another woman gets that seat at the table and can make decisions for our community to create a better future for the next generations. We need fresh, new voices on our Grove City Council. I’m a working professional raising four children in our community, and I’m in tune with the needs of our youth and what we need to provide as a city for our community to thrive.
