Lauren A. Mathews, the daughter of a dairy farmer and a teacher, has been a proud resident of Trumbull County for 29 years and a lifelong Democrat. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Edinboro University of PA and is a 1991 graduate of Grand Valley High School. Her professional experience includes roles such as Program Manager for the Northeast Ohio Council of Government, Social Worker at DODD Developmental Centers, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities – Jobs for Recovery, and Regional Director for New Leaf Residential Services. 

Deeply rooted in the Warren community for the past 25 years, Lauren is dedicated to community improvement. She has actively participated in Warren City School Levy committees, parent organizations, sports boosters, and band boosters. She has also served as a youth soccer and softball coach. Currently, Lauren is a board member of the YWCA of the Mahoning Valley and has served on the Trumbull County Senior Services Advisory Council. In the last seven years, Lauren has volunteered with organizations such as Protect Choice Ohio, Steel Valley Reproductive Freedom Coalition, Free Mom Hugs, Save the ACA campaign, League of Women Voters Election Protection, and Citizens Climate Lobby. 

Lauren will utilize her extensive connections within the community, combined with her consensus-building abilities to foster employment opportunities with living wages, support personal healthcare decisions, enhance public education, and improve the overall quality of life for her constituents.
