State Representative, District 99
Northeast Ohio, State Legislature
Kathy Zappitello is ready to step up for her community. Kathy has been involved in many public programs, including ongoing economic development work surrounding the Conneaut Public Library, where she currently serves as the Executive Director. She is no stranger to listening to, connecting with, and advocating for her community, a skill set vital to a representative legislature. Kathy and her library team have worked to earn a $3,000 grant used to help facilitate difficult conversations in the area, including a number of meetings to bring stakeholders together from across Conneaut’s harbor to discuss improvements and how to inspire further growth in the area. She has led the local Chamber of Commerce, created community partnerships that help provide wrap-around services for all, and fought for programs that have provided library access to the local Correctional Institute and High School. Kathy has an extensive proven record of leadership,. gathering voices, and moving forward cohesively as a group toward solutions, and will be an incredible addition to the legislature.
I come from a long line of public servants and proud military veterans, librarians and teachers, artists and entrepreneurs, and they have taught me to be deeply committed to family, and to community. They demonstrated how to listen, how to help others in need and to always, always, step up when called. Today, I am answering that call.
