Kathi Howard-Primes is the founder and CEO of Momentuum, LLC, an award-winning education and tutoring company, and the author of Walking in Ava’s Shoes. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Ohio University and a master’s in education from Cleveland State University. Kathi is running for Cleveland/University Heights School Board of Education because she believes every student deserves a high-quality and equitable education that prepares them for the future.
Kathi is a respected education advocate, recognized by the Ohio Department of Education, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women (2023 Women of Vision Award), and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she is an active member and regional Delta Author. She’s also a graduate of Cleveland’s first Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses cohort and currently serves as President of The Greater Cleveland Delta Foundation Life Development Center. Her company, Momentuum, has been recognized by Northeast Ohio Parent Magazine as a top tutoring provider in 2024 and 2025.
Deeply committed to community, education equity, and youth empowerment, Kathi has served on multiple boards and continues to lead programs that support academic success and personal development. She and her husband, Marlon, are proud parents of two adult children.
