Candidates
Julie Shaffer
Lakota Board of Education
Southwest Ohio, Local
Julie Shaffer and her family have lived in Westchester for 19 years. Their two oldest children graduated from Lakota West, and their youngest child currently attends West. When Jullie’s kids were young, she decided to attend a school board meeting to get more information, and to see what she could do to effect positive change in the district. That experience sparked her path to office, and Julie has served on the Lakota Board of Education since 2011. Julie has spent her three terms working to be a good financial steward of taxpayer dollars, celebrating the success of staff and students, and working to keep the district strong.
When re-elected, Julie plans to continue providing an opportunity to all children through public education. Through her support of public education, Julie has ensured young women have access to the classes they need to enter historically male-dominated fields. Julie believes that all students in Lakota deserve to feel welcome, to have opportunities to pursue their interests, and to receive a high-quality education. We know that when re-elected, Board Member Shaffer will continue to fight for women’s access to education and all of the kids in her district.
Re-Elect Julie ShafferWhen re-elected, I hope to refocus the district on student achievement, innovative offerings for all students, and allowing teachers to teach in an environment that does not feel like they are being targeted for removal.
