State Representative, District 22
Northeast Ohio, State Legislature
State Representative Juanita Brent was elected to the Ohio Statehouse in 2018 and currently serves Ohio’s 12th district. She is the ranking member on the Agriculture and Conservation Committee and also serves on the Commerce & Labor, Health, and Transportation & Public Safety Committees. Throughout her time at the Statehouse, Juanita has continuously and passionately fought for the most vulnerable populations in our community. Representative Brent has a proven record of working to introduce legislation that prioritizes justice and equity including the C.R.O.W.N (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) Act and the Kinship Care Bill of Rights. Prior to becoming a legislator, Representative Brent sat on the board of trustees for the Harvard Community Services Center and the Lee-Harvard Community Development Corporation, and was a board member for the Health Care Service Corporation. She brings with her to the Statehouse experience building and organizing strong communities, as well as an understanding of the importance of providing women and families access to affordable healthcare. Following redistricting, Representative Brent is now running in District 22 in Northeast Ohio, encompassing areas around East Cleveland, University Heights, Shaker Heights, and Warrensville Heights. Representative Brent will continue to champion Matriots values when reelected to serve the people of Ohio.
I’m excited to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to find common sense ways to come together to improve the lives of working families in communities across Ohio.
