Candidates
Joy Bennett
State Representative, District 56
Southwest Ohio, State Legislature
Joy Bennett is running for office because she saw a lack of commitment to public service within the legislature. A dedicated public servant, Joy moved to Ohio for college, and then to Warren County in 2000 where she has lived for more than 20 years. She is an accomplished writer, entrepreneur, and advocate for equal rights. From 2004 to 2011, Joy served as both a Parent Advisor and a leading Parent Coordinator on the Cincinnati Children’s Family Advisory Council before launching a freelance writing career. She knows what it takes to advocate on behalf of ones’ community, leading a successful referendum on an abortion ban passed by a rogue majority on Mason’s City Council in 2021. Joy is dedicated to making Ohio a safe place for women to prosper and fighting for families. Her deep involvement in her community demonstrates her passion for building relationships that strengthen and connect the community around her. At the Statehouse she will focus on fighting for the rights and dignity of workers, fair school funding, addressing corruption and access to healthcare. Her commitment to working for people, seeking community input, and upholding Matriots values will serve as a great asset for the Statehouse and all Ohioans.
Joy for OhioI’m running because our district deserves to have a Representative who understands how hard life can be, listens to their stories and perspectives, advocates for them, and communicates with them.
