Candidates
Janine R. Boyd
Cleveland Heights City Council
Northeast Ohio, Local
With ten years of experience as a legislator and former Government Affairs Director for a non-profit, Councilmember Janine Boyd is seeking re-election. She plans to continue serving her community of Cleveland Heights. Janine will continue creating balanced, informed public policy that helps all residents. During her time on the City Council, Janine has learned how to build consensus with people who might share different policy priorities, craft legislation informed by and responsive to the community, and create partnerships that provide programming, expand, and fill gaps in service.
When re-elected, Councilmember Boyd will continue to pass legislation that protects women’s/women health, strengthens support for the more vulnerable residents, improves the relationship between police and community, and expands youth engagement opportunities. Councilmember Boyd co-founded and co-chaired Ohio’s first Black Maternal Health Caucus. She created a gender-based mentoring program for Cleveland Heights and will continue working to expand it when re-elected.
My mom taught me to do good work, and that will speak to my candidacy and qualifications more than any campaign will.
