Jamille RaeShaun Jones
Gahanna City Council
Central Ohio, Local
Voting in every national election since turning 18, Jamille RaeShaun Jones only recently began paying attention and getting involved in local elections. Feeling her messages resonated and inspired others to take action when she spoke, Jamille decided it was time to run for Gahanna City Council and make a difference in the community. Jamille is the Founder and Executive Director of Pint Size Protesters (PSP), a non-profit whose mission is to raise anti-racist children and foster the next generation of social justice activists. When elected, Jamille will seek a more representative Gahanna that celebrates its residents’ diversity through public programming and events. Jamille will also ensure that Gahanna is equipped for growth and to sustain all families of racial and economic diversity. She also believes in being present in the community with consistent office hours. These values Jamille holds align with the values we have at Matriots and are why she has our support.
Jamille Jones for Gahanna City CouncilI live in Gahanna, where we proudly proclaim our diversity. However, that diversity is not represented in the city’s elected leaders. While I believe that diversity of thought, lived experiences, and perspectives matter, I also firmly believe that we all deserve to see ourselves reflected in our community’s elected leaders. Ultimately, this is what has inspired me to run for office.
