Ilene Shapiro, the current Summit County Executive, is running for re-election because she believes that her experience and background will continue to benefit Summit County. Ilene believes in using her office to support women. One of her first actions as Executive was to create a Diversity and Inclusion Task Force that consequently increased both female employment and board representation as well as minority employment and board representation. If re-elected, Ilene will continue to place a priority on supporting women and other underrepresented minority groups. 

In 2021, Ilene Shapiro will continue to serve as the Summit County Executive.
