Hanna Detwiler embodies the spirit of resilience and service that defines strong community leadership. A two-time survivor of acute lymphocytic leukemia, Hanna transformed her personal journey into a powerful advocacy for others, championing affordable health care, cancer research, and support for young patients and their families. As Chair of the Ohio Volunteer Advocacy Group for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, she leads with compassion and determination, raising awareness and resources to improve lives across the state.

In her professional role as Community Outreach Director for the Franklin County Recorder’s Office, Hanna works directly with veterans, seniors, and homeowners, forging partnerships that ensure government is accessible and responsive. Her deep commitment to public service began at The Ohio State University, where she studied English and Psychology and helped organize young leaders through the College Democrats and Ohio Young Democrats.

Now running for Canal Winchester City Council, Hanna brings a vision of inclusive, effective local government rooted in her belief that strong communities start with strong families. She is committed to advancing public education, ensuring affordable health care, and creating a city where all residents can thrive.
