As an Oakwood Board of Education member, Gwyn King will strive to ensure every child has the resources needed to meet their individual potential in an inclusive environment. A bold and decisive leader, she will bring better transparency and financial responsibility to the school board.

Gwyn believes that it is the duty of the school board to communicate clearly, frequently, and with full transparency to its stakeholders. She will increase communication between the district and families by involving parents in decision making and discussing curriculum changes before they are implemented.

Gwyn also believes in financial responsibility and understands the importance of teaching children, especially young girls, the values of economic empowerment. As a female physician, Gwyn shows her own daughter that with education and hard work, she can excel professionally and lead effectively.
