Candidates
Genevieve Flieger
North Ridgeville City Council, Ward 4
Northeast Ohio, Local
While Genevieve Flieger is running for office for the first time, she is well acquainted with politics. Flieger has over 17 years of experience canvassing for other campaigns and causes supporting women’s rights, equity and independence, and economic empowerment within her communities. She is inspired to hold office to ensure there is transparency in North Ridgeville. Flieger wants residents to feel they can trust North Ridgeville City Council to lead with integrity and put residents’ interests first. To Flieger, “it is about respect for taxpayers, for the environment, and for your time”. As a mortgage processor at United Trust Bank, Flieger is well versed in explaining the urgency of matters and setting expectations. She believes a council person must be “able to listen to residents’ concerns and direct them to the right person”, which is similar to her work. Additionally, Flieger has spent 12 years volunteering with Angel Haven’s Horse Rescue group where she particularly enjoys teaching others horseback riding, notably to youth groups including local Girl Scout Troops.
Genevieve Flieger for Ward 4 CouncilI want to bring back accountability by listening and being responsive to residents. I believe I can do a better job of informing my community what sorts of things are up for discussion or being voted on so the general public can share their views.
