In 2016, Denise Driehaus made history as the first woman elected to the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, Commissioner Driehaus takes immense pride in serving her community in this pivotal role. She is dedicated to championing women’s rights, equality, and safety. She serves on several county boards and is notably the Founding Chair of the Hamilton County Commission on Women & Girls, advocating for policies that uplift and empower women. Additionally, she is the Executive Chair of the Hamilton County Addiction Response Coalition, focusing on the health and well-being of all residents.
Commissioner Driehaus’s commitment to public service extends beyond county lines. She is the Vice Chair of the National Democratic County Officials, Secretary of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio, a facilitator for the National Institute for Civil Discourse, and a Board Member of the Community Learning Center Institute and the Portman Center for Policy Solutions.
Before her tenure as Commissioner, she served four terms in the Ohio House of Representatives for the 31st Ohio House District, where she consistently advocated for equality and justice. She also owned and operated two small businesses, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong work ethic to her role as Commissioner.
