Councilmember Davida Russell, an experienced leader, is currently the Vice President of Cleveland Heights City Council as well as a school substitute teacher. She is deeply committed to furthering communication between leaders and community members and cultivating accurate representation of constituents in government. A well-known labor leader, civic activist, and local elected official, she has long fought for better access to comprehensive healthcare, quality education for all, nondiscrimination in employment and housing, criminal justice system reform, and equal pay for equal work. As Mayor, she plans to continue this work.

In office, Russekl will work to address the lack of harmony among branches of the city government. She believes that without improved relationships and teamwork, the immense potential of the community cannot be realized. Through clearly understanding the needs of the residents and the neighborhoods, Russell looks forward to improving communication between citizens and their representatives. As Mayor Davida will continue to embody Matriots values as grown on her journey as a public servant.
