Dr. Chavone (Taylor) Nash is a dedicated advocate for equity and civic leadership. She currently serves as the Project Director for the Partnership for Equitable + Resilient Communities at ThirdSpace Action Lab, where she leads Cleveland’s efforts in the national initiative and coordinates the Cleveland Freedom Dreams Coalition. Under her leadership, the Coalition works to ensure that Black, Latino, and Indigenous residents of Cleveland can thrive and live with dignity, focusing on housing, civic infrastructure, equitable democracy, and economic development.
Dr. Nash brings a strong background in community development, education policy, and housing advocacy, with a career rooted in uplifting historically under-resourced communities. She holds a Doctorate in Education in Organizational Leadership and Policy from the University of Dayton, a Master’s in Urban Studies from the University of Akron, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Alabama A&M University.
She is a 2025 Black Professional Association Charitable Foundation 40 Under 40 Emerging Legend, a 2023 Leadership Ohio Fellow, a Who’s Who in Black Cleveland inductee, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
A Shaw High School alum, Dr. Nash is deeply committed to building inclusive, community-centered systems and advancing policies that reflect the voices of those most impacted. She is running for office to continue championing equity, opportunity, and resilient communities, and will be a fierce advocate for the Matriots’ mission and values in office.
