Charity Martin-King is a candidate for Ohio House District 2 and a lifelong public servant with more than 30 years of experience in workforce development, education, and community leadership. She currently serves as Director of Career and Technical Education for the Academy for Urban Scholars, overseeing programs across multiple Ohio cities and ensuring alignment with workforce needs. Her career includes leadership roles with The Ohio State University, the Columbus Urban League, and Columbus City Schools, where she managed budgets, built partnerships, and developed programs focused on career readiness, youth development, and violence prevention. She also founded Urban Spirit Coffee House, a community-centered small business that supported civic engagement and local programming.

Charity’s priorities include expanding economic opportunity, strengthening education and workforce pathways, supporting youth and families, and ensuring responsible, transparent governance. She holds degrees from The Ohio State University and is pursuing a PhD. She is running to bring experienced, community-rooted leadership to the Statehouse.
