Cathy Barney has been a Milford resident for over 30 years, where she has raised a family, volunteered, and invested deeply in the community. An award-winning local journalist and editor, Cathy spent 15 years covering government and education for outlets including the Cincinnati Business Courier and The Enquirer. Her career also spans public relations, marketing, and community arts administration. She founded Artsy Fartsy Saturdays, a neighborhood arts program that served marginalized middle schoolers for a decade and was recognized by the City of Milford, the Ohio House and Senate, and regional organizations.

A Quaker minister and longtime spiritual nurturer, Cathy has organized efforts to bridge racism locally and has served as an election poll manager, valuing bipartisan cooperation. She is committed to transparency, integrity, and improving Milford’s quality of life through affordable housing, healthy finances, strong community programs, and a vision for a cultural arts commission to celebrate the city’s vibrant creative community.
