Candidates
Catherine Ingram
State Senate, District 9
Southwest Ohio, State Legislature
Representative Catherine Ingram is a mother, grandmother, realtor, and an educator. As a public servant, community leader, and lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Representative Ingram knows firsthand how much each and every decision made in Columbus personally impacts all Ohioans. Her professional career began as a public affairs and customer service professional, which led her to work with legislators and community members identifying the need for community reinvestment and how legislation impacts the daily lives of Ohioans. She then served on the Cincinnati Public School Board for more than 20 years, presiding as President and Vice President throughout her tenure. While serving, she was also named to serve on the All-Ohio School Board before being elected to the Ohio House in 2016.
With a vast expertise in education policy, Representative Ingram currently serves as the Ranking Member on the House Higher Education and Career Readiness Committee and as the Chair for the Black Maternal Health Caucus. In the Senate, she will continue to focus on equitable public education, protecting citizens from unfair municipal sovereignty, developing legislation to protect children and pension benefits, expanding kinship funds for families impacted by opioid addiction, and supporting women’s rights. We have no doubt that Representative Ingram will continue to be a strong voice for the most marginalized, while upholding Matriots values in the Ohio Senate.
I am running “to be another voice for those who are heard but often ignored…and continue to fight for fair voting opportunities, affordable living, and eliminating the ” weakest link”.”
