Following the first election of President Trump in 2016, Councilmember King was motivated to jumpstart her career in local politics and has been a member of Fairview Park City Council since 2019. Beyond her work in the city council, she also manages the Fairview Hospital Ultrasound Department, which demonstrates the care Councilmember King provides for her community.  In her past two terms on Fairview Park City Council, Councilmember King has chaired the Finance Committee, led petition drives for reproductive freedom, and advocated for equal pay.  

Looking towards her third term, Councilmember King intends to make city council meetings more transparent to the public by streaming them via YouTube. She will also continue to focus on working towards a more equitable, accessible, and connected Fairview Park. In all, Councilmember King leads by example for both her three daughters and her city as someone who takes action when injustice arises.
