Annette Blackwell has served as the Mayor of Maple Heights since 2016. Mayor Blackwell’s election marked a historic event; she is the first woman of color to serve as Mayor of Maple Heights. Mayor Blackwell is committed to tackling difficult issues such as infant mortality, and she ran for mayor to make a difference in her community. In her role, she is able to ensure the perspective of women is represented, and is dedicated to making sure that half of her directors are women. Throughout her career, Mayor Blackwell has demonstrated her commitment to ensuring that women are represented in government, and if elected, she will continue to bring that perspective to her position.
