Anita Somani

Dr. Anita Somani is serving her first term as State Representative for Ohio’s 11th House District, including Dublin and Hilliard. A respected OBGYN at OhioHealth for 31 years, she earned her M.D. from the Medical College of Ohio and completed her residency at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She also holds leadership roles in the Physicians Action Network, South Asians for America, the Columbus Medical Association, and Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio.
Dr. Somani ran for office to address healthcare, abortion restrictions, and gun laws, which disproportionately affect marginalized communities. She aims to use her medical expertise to create evidence-based legislation, focusing on affordable healthcare, sensible gun laws, and investing in public education. Dr. Somani has upheld Matriots values during her term and we are proud to know that she will continue to do so when elected this November to represent District 8.
