Amy Smith
Whitehall City Council, Ward 3
Central, Local
Amy knows the value of hard work and has seen firsthand how local programs can help fill economic gaps in a family’s budget. Growing up, she benefited from programs that ensured she and her family had enough food to eat and received a quality education. She says that, once elected to Whitehall city council she plans to proactively advocate for fair housing policy within her city and supporting rezoning and incentives for affordable housing projects. She’s guided by her background as an architect and has applied that knowledge to Whitehall’s benefit by serving on the City of Whitehall Master Plan steering committee, the city’s planning commission, and the Whitehall YMCA Board. Amy’s commitment to service extends even further, as she is currently on an Americorps assignment with Habitat for Humanity Mid-Ohio. When asked why she’s running, Amy says that she’s driven to serve her neighbors, bring a fresh perspective, and meet the needs of all income levels as Whitehall grows and develops.
