Candidates
Alissa Mayhaus
State Representative, District 30
Southwest Ohio, State Legislature
Alissa Mayhaus is a proud Cincinnatian and University of Cincinnati graduate. At the beginning of the pandemic, like so many Americans, Alissa lost her job due to a layoff. While looking for work she decided to come home to Cincinnati, settling in Green Township. Alissa has long been committed to helping support her community, regularly volunteering for women’s health organizations and domestic violence shelters, as well as with political and policy-focused campaigns driving change at the state, local, and national level. For the past two years she has also committed to organizing her own advocacy events, collecting in-kind and monetary donations for organizations that aid at-risk women, girls, LGBTQ+ youth, and the unhoused.
At the Statehouse, Alissa will focus on policies that tackle discrimination in hiring, pay, or promoting, as well as funding women owned businesses and making it easier for women who have experienced discrimination to legally address these situations. She also plans to advocate for policies that strengthen our public schools, trade programs, and increase affordability of our State’s colleges and universities. Through her experiences, Alissa has come to understand the importance and value of working across diverse teams to solve complex problems. She will passionately bring this same frame of mind to the Statehouse.
Mayhaus for StatehouseAs an experienced volunteer and community activist, I can’t stand by while the voices of our neighbors go unheard. I am running to bring an accountable, ethical voice to the Statehouse, and to represent every person in House District 30.
