Candidates
Brooke Dillon
Ohio House of Representatives, District 77
Northeast Ohio, State Legislature
Brooke Dillon is a lifelong Wayne County resident, a working professional, and a first-time candidate for the Ohio House. She has spent her career in manufacturing, agriculture, and logistics, and she is running because she believes people with working-class backgrounds—particularly women—deserve a stronger voice in our state government. Dillon spent nine years at Cargill Animal Nutrition in Wooster; currently, she works in manufacturing and quality inspection at Seaman Corporation. Working in traditionally male-dominated environments has shaped Dillon’s perspective both as a woman and a leader. For Dillon, workplace safety, fair treatment, and economic opportunity go beyond abstract principles-they are part of her lived experience as a working woman. She believes in promoting economic independence and secure communities by advocating for labor unions and fair wages.
Brooke Dillon’s commitment to women’s empowerment goes beyond her current political campaign. She is a recent member of the League of Women Voters of Wayne County as well as a coalition member of Red Wine and Blue. Dillon has fought for women’s dominion over their own bodies in her grassroots organizing with Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights, while also promoting healthy and secure communities through her sustainability work with Conserve Ohio. Dillon is running because she believes women should not need to come from traditional political backgrounds to have a place in government. Dillon highlights the legislative need for women who understand what it means to work, manage a household, build financial independence, and navigate workplaces and communities where women are not equally represented. Dillon asserts that she is not a career politician; she is a working woman and a Wayne County neighbor who decided she wanted to see a different kind of leadership in Columbus. Dillon hopes to not only bring her unique experience and perspective to the Ohio House, but to also help other women envision their own place in Ohio’s government.
The Matriots are excited to endorse Brooke Dillon in her campaign for the Ohio House of Representatives.
