Candidates
Crystal Lett
Ohio House of Representatives, District 11
Central Ohio, State Legislature
Crystal Lett is running for re-election for the Ohio House of Representatives, District 11, with a platform based on mental health resources, affordable healthcare, children’s education, LGBTQ+ rights, gun control, and women’s rights.
She started her professional career as a Case Manager at North Central Mental Health, helping create a safe environment for young people ages 14-21 living with severe mental illness. After the birth of her first child, she worked part time as a Climate Services Manager at a financial advisory firm, and later became a manager at a psychological practice so that she could continue to provide help to those in the mental health community. Lett is passionate about mental health and healthcare for children because of the hardships she and her family have overcome. She fights to provide safe and accessible resources for others going through the same or similar experiences.
Her passion for advocacy continues beyond her work experiences. In 2016, as a volunteer with Save the Children Action network, Lett lobbied in Washington for the Social Impact Partnerships to Pay for Results Act, to fund early childhood education, and for the REACH Every Mother and Child Act, a five-year strategy to end preventable child and maternal deaths globally by 2030. She also ran The Salon Lab Columbus, a bipartisan on ramp for women curious about politics. From 2017 to 2021 Lett helped found the Dublin Area Progressives and joined Protect Our Care to defend the Affordable Care Act.
As Representative, she serves as Ranking Member of House Children and Human Services
Committee, and sits on the House Medicaid Committee and the House Small Business
Committee. She has sponsored bills such as House Bill 136, which extends civil rights
protections to LGBTQ+ Ohioans in employment, housing and public accommodations. She also co-sponsored legislation to stop health insurance companies from overriding the professional judgment of licensed medical providers.
Crystal Lett’s extensive work and advocacy experiences allow her to effectively fight for the
rights of all Ohioans, and create meaningful change for the issues she is passionate about. The Matriot’s are proud to endorse Crystal Lett for a second term as Representative, and are thrilled to see the continued work she will do, fighting for healthcare and mental health resources, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and children’s education.
Whether fighting for affordable healthcare, supporting working families, or expanding opportunities for women to lead in public life, I have remained committed to building an Ohio where every person has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background, income, or zip code.
