Mindy Kayl is running for Erie County Commissioner with a commitment to supporting her community and protecting the environment. Her professional career includes 10 years of public service with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Science Foundation in Antarctica and throughout the Pacific Ocean. She later founded a wetlands consulting business, gaining experience navigating government proceedings and regulations affecting private landowners and government agencies.

Kayl has been involved in her community since high school, when she began volunteering with 4-H. She continues to mentor 4-H’ers and help young people grow as leaders in their communities. Her community service also includes providing senior meals, expanding local food banks, preserving critical habitat, and protecting public access to waterfronts and hiking trails.

As Erie County Commissioner, Kayl will lead with transparency, accountability, and cooperation. She is committed to creating jobs while protecting the environment and the land Erie County residents rely on.
