Ashley Bryant Bailey

Ashley is a mother, bridge-builder, and community advocate who believes politics should serve people, not power. Raised in Roselawn in a working-class family rooted in faith, service, and community, Ashley is a proud graduate of Walnut Hills High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. She began her career at Procter & Gamble before serving as Ohio Digital Director for Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
After more than a decade leading national work in racial equity, civic engagement, and movement building, Ashley returned home with her husband to raise their daughters and serve the city that raised her. She is currently serving Ohio House District 26 after being appointed to the legislature in 2025, where she has already spoken out against voter suppression and fought to protect working families from harmful legislation. Ashley also serves as Senior Advisor at Higher Heights for America, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to building the political power of Black women.
Ashley is focused on expanding access to healthcare and opportunity, investing in public education and affordable housing, and ensuring every voice in her district is heard and valued. The Matriots are proud to endorse Ashley for Ohio House District 26 because of her commitment to community-centered leadership, equity, and building a stronger future for Ohio families.
