Annette Blackwell, Mayor of Maple Heights and Director of Safety, is widely recognized for restoring the city’s fiscal stability. Originally from Selma, Alabama, she moved to Ohio at age two and grew into a dedicated community leader. Her experience spans both public service and the private sector, including roles at KeyBank, University Hospitals, and 16 years at Deloitte and Ryan, where she specialized in property tax issues.

When first elected, Maple Heights was in fiscal emergency. Mayor Blackwell led its turnaround by developing and implementing a successful five-year recovery plan. Under her leadership, the city earned the State of Ohio Auditor’s Clean Audit Award from 2021 to 2023.

Now running for Ohio Auditor, she is focused on protecting taxpayers, combating corruption, and ensuring communities remain safe and affordable. She lives in Maple Heights with her husband and their three children. The Matriots are excited to support Mayor Blackwell and the path she is forging.
