Ever since moving to Berea in 1990, Daune Jaynes’ contributions to her community have been constant. Prior to running for city council, Daune has fulfilled various roles in her city, such as non-profit work, advertising, and volunteering for her church and children’s school. However, Daune’s passion for activism shines through no matter what her job is, as she led the effort in fighting for equal pay, accommodations for working parents, and fair employment opportunities within her advertising agency in the 1990s.
With Berea currently undergoing a period of development, Daune is running for city council to ensure the voices of her Berea neighbors are heard throughout such changes. Upon election, Daune intends to make city council meetings accessible to all residents, further the Council’s engagement with committee projects, and ensure that everyone in her city is treated with respect and kindness. Overall, Daune’s lifelong passion for advocacy will make her an effective, dedicated, and empathetic leader for Berea City Council.
