Shockey earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s of Urban Planning, Design, and Development from Cleveland State University. Considering her educational background, career, and strong commitment to Brooklyn City Council, it is intuitive for her to be a mayoral candidate. Councilmember Shockey desires to put residents’ safety and well being first, prioritizing fiscal responsibility, community resources, and business retention. She is an excellent candidate for Mayor of Brooklyn, as the city has recently updated its master plan and zoning code. Given her background in urban planning, council experience, and clear vision for Brooklyn’s future, the city will be in great hands.
Meg Ryan Shockey For Brooklyn MayorBeing a young woman myself, I’ve seen the additional challenges that women have to face. This doesn’t mean it always has to be that way. I do what I can to ensure that the women after me have an easier time achieving the same goals that I’ve had to work harder for.
