Councilwoman Christine Higham is ready to instill positive change in Summit County when re-elected to Summit County Council. Councilwoman Higham’s appointment to the Summit County Council in June 2022 and subsequent election in November 2022 underscores her commitment to public service and political engagement. As a dynamic leader, she currently serves as: Chair of the Personnel and Intergovernmental Committee, Vice Chair of the Planning, Building, and Economic Development Committee, Member of the Finance Committee, and Member of the Rules Committee.
Councilwoman Higham’s career showcases her dedication to women’s empowerment and leadership. She began her professional journey in Columbus with the Ohio House of Representatives. Upon returning to Summit County, she spent a decade in social services, honing her skills in policy writing, strategic planning, organizational development, outreach, and project management. Since 2015, she has served as the Director of Human Resources and Administration for Mustard Seed Market and Café, a locally owned business. Before this, she was the Deputy Director of Human Resources for the late County Executive Russ Pry, where she excelled in policy development, payroll management, hiring, substance abuse training, job classification, and compensation.
